We aim to ignite a love of reading in all of our children in Avoyelles Parish. During the school year we have programs such as DEAR (Drop Everything And Read) and AR (Accelerated Reader). This summer we sent free books home with your child to continue to grow our readers. Just reading 20 minutes a day will grow their vocabulary by 1.8 million words a year. The reading gift your child received contains a set of books that are personalized to your child's reading level.The gift also contains family activities that we hope you and your child will dive into.
Each grade level has it's own specific books and instructions for completing the activities. These activities will be due upon entering school in August.
